I was disappointed to learn that special deals had been available and felt embarassed when i learned from friends who were also in the hotel that they were paying half the price i'd paid. they come from different parts of the country, so were not in communication with each other before the event we were attending. my final gripe was the parking charges. this was not noted until after the booking was made. i chose to park elsewhere.

Mostly covered above. i strongly recommend this charming old family hotel with its framed photos of horse jumping trials everywhere for your stay. traditional breakfast was great, especially after a quiet stroll to fetch a paper watching the boats and birds... oh, almosty forgot, you are within such easy reach of first class restuarants for, say, an evening meal on arrival. apart from your chance to keep fit using stairs to all rooms, if travelling by car you might find...
