The overall view i have of our overnight stay was delightful and would certainly consider staying at the hotel in the future. i have not hesitated in recommending the hotel.
The whole ambiance of the room was lovely. it was nice to have a really modern room in such a gorgeous old building. although we did not have a view of the lake from our room the view from the resturant was so peaceful.

An attractive hotel in extensive grounds. the rooms and the public areas were decorated to a high standard and the staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. the breakfasts were to an excellent standard with a good choice. we will stay again

All the staff were friendly and helpful. the real fire in the hall was welcome given some typically lake district weather whilst i was there. my room was clean, warm and comfortable. the breakfast was excellent with a really good choice. as i spent my time in grasmere walking in the hills, i really appreciated the fact that forest side has got a boot room and drying room. the hotel is ideally situated for getting out into the hills whlst only being a few minutes walk from the centre... We had an excellent few days in the lake district which we know quite well. we wondered at the policy of changing tables for ewach meal!
We lkoved our stay. the hotel was a nice walk into grasmere. the food was excellent. we look forward to seeing the refurbished new hotel next yesr.

A very enjoyable stay. room was lovely. food excellent. the only point that i would criticise is the lack of background music in restaurant and bar.
