The standard of accomodation is excellent as is the location. it is on a mian road, however this proved not to cause any issues. i would thoroughly recommend staying at southside.

Alan met us on arrival and offered coffee downstairs once we had freshened up. he gave us recommendations for dinner that evening which was most helpful. the room was marvellous. great bed, lots of little toiletries in the ensuite and a decanter of sherry. in the morning andrena was our hostess for a colossal breakfast which we simply could not do justice to. we left our car for the rest of the day while we were doing the tourist bit after we checked out. a great place to stay,... Close to the royal mile and the centre of edinburgh. a stylish modern hotel at a bargain price for us of â£89 a night. rooms where fantastic, tv said welcome with your name written on it (great personal touch).bathroom was clean and modern again. bed was extremely comfortable. breakfast was well presented and tasty. bar stayed open until the wee hours, meant we could grab a bottle of wine and take it up to the room. all in all, a little gem of a hotel.
