The breakfast had to be completed by 9.00am even on a sunday!! far to early. breakfast not the best i had.

Although the hotel was fairly standard in decor, the area itself was a little down market. more information regarding the situation would have been helpful. the room was quiet, being at the back, but the view was of the car park and a bungalow - rather stark. some greenery would have made the view more attractive and acceptable. it was perhaps a little expensive, considering the area and the standard nature of the decor. Centrally placed, old fashioned sandstone, 3 star hotel in dumfries. comfortable rooms and beds decorated to a good standard. good car parking. excellent gym and pool. events run throughout the year. breakfast buffet was a bit fraught as there were a lot of guests the night we stayed. needs some internal decorating work in public areas.

Despite being cold (the weather was atrocious), i enjoyed my stay at the hotel. i couldn,t get the shower to work but the family room my 2 friends and i stayed in, was comfortable. i would suggest allowing the heating to be on for a longer period though, but everything else was good.
All staff were very friendly.
