1. to have a bar in a hotel which does not open until 5 o' clock on a saturday afternoon even for residents is dickensian in this day and age. the duke of york pub is only a short walk away and also does excellent food. 2. we were attending a magic convention and did not have a lot of time between the afternoon sessions and the evening show so we decided to have a meal in the hotel when we went back to get showered and changed. we were informed that this would not be possible as we had not... Even though the cleanliness of the room wasn't brilliant my overall stay was great. the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. tea/coffee making and television were provided which was nice to be able to stay in your room if you didnt want to go out.
Friendly staff, food was excellent. bed very comfortable.
