The staff were very professional but also friendly. all requests were dealt with. the view was excellent adequate car parking space. although there were weddings on in the hotel we did not feel that we were in the way the spa area was excellent the restaurant food was excellent

1. to have a bar in a hotel which does not open until 5 o' clock on a saturday afternoon even for residents is dickensian in this day and age. the duke of york pub is only a short walk away and also does excellent food. 2. we were attending a magic convention and did not have a lot of time between the afternoon sessions and the evening show so we decided to have a meal in the hotel when we went back to get showered and changed. we were informed that this would not be possible as we had not... I thought this was really excellent value for money. i have stayed in some hotels that cost a lot more and were not of this standard. really nicely situated, nicely decorated, very comfortable room, nice and quiet. everything presented to a high standard. i don't know if this applies to all their rooms but our room was non-smoking also which is a real plus (i can't stand hotel rooms that smell of stale cigarettes).
